Wildlife Conservation Trust is looking for highly motivated individuals interested in ecological research to work with us as interns on our Riverine Wildlife Conservation projects, involving lab-based genetics, remote sensing and GIS, conservation technology, data processing and management, fieldwork on wildlife and fish species, and community engagement and outreach.
We are looking for 5-6 unpaid interns (only for undergraduate students) and paid interns (graduates) for period ranging from 3 to 6 months between June and November 2025.
Internship Details:
Locations: Bengaluru, Nashik, Chambal, specific rivers in Bihar/Madhya Pradesh.
Duration: 3 to 5 months (June-October 2025)
Topics by Location:
- Genetics lab work on riverine endangered species: DNA filtration, extraction, primer development, PCR, DNA library preparation, and sequencing work (Bengaluru).
- Technological innovation work involving electronic assembly, circuit development, device fabrication, Python programming and coding (Nashik).
- Database management, data sorting, image processing, data analysis, remote sensing/GIS work, tech manual design and translation (Bengaluru, Chambal).
- Fieldwork on fisheries and wildlife data collection along rivers in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
- Community Engagement and Outreach in riverside villages and schools through activity-based learning, talks, and workshops.
Paid internship stipends will be decided based on the candidate’s specific topical experience and how well they fit the project. Gap-year graduates and recently qualified Bachelors (of any field, B.A., B.Eng., B.Tech., B.Sc.) and Masters (M.Sc.) graduates looking for short-term experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates from the aforementioned locations will be given preference if their experience is considered suitable. Unpaid internships are reserved only for students who are still studying for their Bachelor’s degree courses. The duration of unpaid internships will not be more than two months.
