WCT is hiring a Field Coordinator for an ecosystem restoration project near Dharni, adjoining Melghat Tiger Reserve (Amravati district, Maharashtra). The role involves ecological field work, implementation of restoration activities on Community Forest Resource (CFR) lands, training programmes and community engagement. All work will be done in coordination with a local NGO partner.

Eligibility
- Master’s degree in ecology, life sciences, forestry, wildlife biology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in ecology, natural resource management, or habitat restoration
- Conversant and comfortable to speak and write in Marathi and English, preferably also Hindi
- Should have a driver’s license for two-wheeler
- Preference for candidates from areas local to the landscape such as Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Nanded, Wardha, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination and execution of ecological field surveys (all taxa, with experts)
- Implementation of on-ground restoration activities (e.g. removal of invasive plant species, plantation of native species, nursery management, etc.) on CFR lands in collaboration with local communities
- Monitoring and documentation of restoration outcomes for vegetation and other parameters
- Community engagement and relationship-building with village communities in and around the project area
- Coordination and liaison with the local NGO partner for organising training workshops for local communities and/or other personnel
- Data analysis and report writing
